About the Orange Peel Gazette of Volusia
Our Mission
"The Mission of the Orange Peel Gazette of Volusia is to bring a smile to the face of each and every person that we encounter, particularly our readers and to provide our sponsors with an efficient and effective advertising medium."
Our History
The Orange Peel Gazette of Volusia, Inc publishes the Volusia County edition. It is an independent franchise owned by Randy and Diane Ingersoll. The first edition in Volusia County was printed on February 1, 2006.
Randy is a third generation Floridian, who was born and raised in Central Florida. At the time of the printing of the first Orange Peel Gazette in Osceola County on September 1, 1998, Randy worked in and was partial owner of a long time family business in Kissimmee. In February 2000, Randy sold his interest in the family business and moved to Volusia County. In the ensuing years, he found himself looking for the latest issue of the OPG each time he visited friends and family in Kissimmee.
Diane, a Chicago native, lived in Wisconsin before moving to Volusia County in 1985. She loves Florida and plans never to live anywhere else again. As an independent consultant for Party Lite Gifts (manufacturer of the greatest candles in the world!), she operates her own business in addition to working with the OPG.
Diane and Randy were married on July 13, 2002 and have lived in Port Orange ever since.
When they began looking for a business that Randy could start, it was only natural to look to the Orange Peel Gazette. They had experienced first hand the joy that the OPG brings to its readers. So, Randy resigned from his full time job on January 1, 2006 and together they started the Orange Peel Gazette of Volusia.
